Seeking happiness. Seeking meaning. Seeking reborn.

Visit Yunling univ for a talk on innovation vs efficiency. Met some old old friends. There so many shared memory that just looking at each other is fun and warm enough.

The topics of who failed , hurt, betray whom are always fun. They brought back  emotions that we thought buried 30 years ago.

What troubled me is the scope of the talk is very limited and is hard for me to fit in. When we were all laughing. I felt left out. I felt the happiness has eluded me altogether.  Sigh.

Flying to Beijing to give the same talk. It will intersting to see people's feedback on my efficient-innovation map.

Serious Tourist Manifasto

Since I was invited to be a member and an adviser the Xu XiaKe Association, traveling has take on additional meaning to me. And it is not coincident, most of my travels have missions, purposes and objectives. It is laborious but rewarding. Fit well with the activities of Xu XiaKe, 17th century Chinese geographer and travel writer, who happened to be from my ancestry hometown, Jiangyin, Jiangsu, China.

I believe the world should treat the different kind of tour seriously, we should promote it, give it an clear entity, analyze it. So I hereby declare the new term, in the honor of Xu XiaKe, "Serious Tourism" and "Serious Tourist".

Serious Tourists travel to seek knowledge, enlightenment and innovation in order to better themselves and the world.

There, you have it.

Cultural Tourism, Medical Tourism, Eco-tourism, Volunteer Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Study abroad, explorations are typical examples of serious tourism.
